After the past few months of going to school, keeping up with my online class, and doing college applications on the side, I think I have finally caught senioritis. And we just finished the first quarter a few weeks ago.
I was wondering what is the best way to describe this phenomenon - mainly for my Finnish fellows who are completely clueless as to what I am talking about right now - and Urban Dictionary's definition seems to be pretty spot on;
Senioritis
"noun. A crippling disease that strikes high school seniors. Symptoms include: laziness, an over-excessive wearing of track pants, old athletic shirts, sweatpants, athletic shorts, and sweatshirts. Also features a lack of studying, repeated absences, and a generally dismissive attitude. The only known cure is a phenomenon known as Graduation."
I would personally add on to this description some common sentences known to be heard from seniors, such as: "I'm so done", "I hate this year", "I'm so tired", "Can I go home?", and my personal favorite, "I'm giving up on life."
Three applications done, three to go. Graduation project speech coming up in under two weeks.
Needless to say, I'm tired. But almost done with all the work.
